Description

  • Please note this one-day workshop will take place in 6 locations around Vermont. To select, click "Select a date", then "Register" and choose from the location options.
  • If you attended a workshop last year, the Poultney, Springfield, and Burlington workshops will include enhanced TA for growers who already have a plan in the works.
  • In collaboration with UMASS Extension, the Brattleboro workshop is part 2 of a soil health series. You do not have to attend both workshops, but if you would like more information about part 1, which is offered in Amherst, MA, click here.

This workshop is intended for vegetable growers of all scales, and highly recommended for RAPs compliance. By the end of an intensive day, growers will:

  • Develop or complete a RAPs-compliant NMP
  • Learn to use VVBGA's on-line farmOS record keeping system
  • Understand the impact excess nutrients have on the environment
  • Interpret soil test results, calculate nutrients, and choose soil amendments
  • Hear from other farmers about their soil health strategies
  • Learn from a featured soil health speaker about how on-farm practices affect nutrient availability.

This workshop is free--coffee and snacks provided, but please bring money or your own lunch.
